Indiana University Football

Wednesday, January 21, 2026

Please join me in congratulating our Indiana University football team on winning the 2025–2026 College Football Playoff National Championship and bringing the trophy to Bloomington.

Led by Coach Curt Cignetti, the Hoosiers showed what teamwork, determination, shared focus on a common goal, and guts can produce. The team transformed a legacy of the most losses in major college football history to an undefeated season and a national championship. Theirs is a story for the ages.

Of note, Indiana University Bloomington takes particular pride in the fact that six starters, and 30 football players overall, were also Academic All-Americans, excelling on the field and in the classroom.

Many, many staff, faculty, and students supported the accomplishments of the team in this history-making season. They represent the Athletics Department, Public Safety, Facilities, Student Life, Marketing and Communications, and countless others. All of you, too, contributed to the success of our Hoosiers.

Congratulations, Athletic Director Scott Dolson, Coach Cignetti, and the 2025 Indiana University Football program!
