Please join me in congratulating Paige Andersson, senior assistant vice provost for experiential learning and outreach, and Rachael Jones McAfee, executive director, community engagement, who co-chaired the IU Bloomington Carnegie Steering Committee, creating the submission that led to IUB earning the 2026 Carnegie Community Engagement Classification.
Our campus was awarded the designation this month by the American Council on Education (ACE) and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching in recognition of our commitment to community engagement—an honor our campus last received in 2020. The award exemplifies how engaging with our wider community is central to IUB's mission, as demonstrated by numerous initiatives involving faculty, staff, and students across campus.
