Please join me in congratulating the student journalists at the Indiana Daily Student and Arbutus yearbook on receiving David L. Adams Apple Awards at the National College Media Convention in New York City in March.
Sponsored by the College Media Association, the David L. Adams Apple Awards recognize excellence in student-produced and student-published work. This year, IU student media organizations placed in six categories and received two honorable mentions among 463 entries, a recognition of their place among the top collegiate journalism and media production organizations.
David Tolchinsky, dean of The Media School, praised the winners, saying, “I’m thrilled but not surprised that the Indiana Daily Student and Arbutus won these national awards, named for our own late David L. Adams. From multimedia and print to podcasts and social media, these honors highlight the range of our students’ excellence—and their ability to thrive in and shape a fast-changing media landscape.”
