Before you begin the application process, there are a few steps you should take to get ready to apply.

Steps to take after you apply

Learn the steps you still need to take once you've submitted the online application and essay, and how to make changes to your completed application.

  • Receive your Atlas login information

    You will receive your Atlas login information by email within five days of IU receiving your completed application. You will then need to log in to Atlas so you can upload the additional documents you are required to submit. Look for the Transfer Application Checklist under the requests section.

  • Submit your supporting documents

    After submitting your application, you will need to provide some supporting materials. Required materials include secondary school records and demonstration of English proficiency. See all the required and optional supporting documents here.

  • Make changes to your application (optional)

    If you need to change information that you already submitted with your application (name, contact information, email address, etc.), you'll need to submit a form. Continue using Atlas to submit any new information.

  • Cancel your application

    If you would like to cancel your application after you have already applied, you can do that on the Intent to Enroll page.

  • Learn about Jacobs School of Music requirements

    After you apply to IU, you’ll need to complete the Jacobs Schools of Music supplemental application and submit an additional fee.
