Transfer pathway opportunities
Indiana University welcomes well-qualified transfer students from 2-year and 4-year institutions across the country. To ease the transition and to maximize transfer credit for students, IU Bloomington has partnered with Ivy Tech Community College, Vincennes University, and state institutions to offer a number of transfer pathways.
Indiana College Core (ICC)
Students who earn the ICC milestone at any Indiana state public institution prior to enrolling at IU Bloomington would not be required to complete this general coursework at IU.
Transfer Single Articulation Pathways (TSAP)
Transfer Single Articulation Pathways (TSAP) provides an opportunity for students to complete a bachelor’s degree at IU Bloomington in 60 credit hours, following completion of the corresponding TSAP associate degree at either Ivy Tech Community College or Vincennes University.
Guaranteed Admission Agreements (GAAs)
Indiana University Bloomington and Ivy Tech Community College have also collaborated to establish Guaranteed Admission Agreements (GAAs) in each of the following areas: Biology, Criminal Justice, Elementary Education, Informatics, and Psychology.
The bachelor’s degrees earned by TSAP and Guaranteed Admission students at IU Bloomington are the same four-year degrees earned by students who matriculate as freshmen, and the degree requirements are also the same.
Start as exploratory
There's no rush to decide on a major. At IU, you'll have time and support to help you discover your interests and set your academic and career goals. If you did not select a major or chose exploratory on your application, you'll start as an exploratory student. In your first year at IU, you'll work with the experts in AMES to explore your options, take prerequisites, and then follow a standard admission path into your school of interest.
